Sustainability

At Permadoor, we recognise the need to limit our impact on the environment and are committed to ethical and sustainable practices throughout our business. This approach is reflected in the choice of materials, suppliers and manufacturing processes that are employed to produce our range of composite doors.

Our aim is to provide products and services in a sustainable manner, which safeguard our employees, clients, the public and the environment. This holistic approach is intended to encompass both the present day and future in its protection against incorrect environmental management.

Protecting our future

As a company, we take responsibility for the sympathetic management and maintenance of our working environment across all of our business premises, selection of appropriate materials, transport to and from sites, correct and safe disposal of waste and appropriate and timely completion of any relevant legislative documentation as part of our management responsibility.

We are committed to compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, licences, industry standards and techniques; all senior personnel are encouraged to maintain current knowledge in these areas.

We continually strive to improve our environmental performance, to prevent pollution and to move towards sustainable development and management. We regularly review our policies, Environmental Management System
(EMS) and environmental targets and objectives in line with the EN ISO 14001:2015 working standard.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint

Recycling
Our recycling chain from collection to reprocessing is designed to substantially reduce our products’ carbon footprint. We have an active recycling programme that covers aluminium, polythene and cardboard.

Energy efficient doors
GRP Hughes no-glazed door and Sheridan glazed door have achieved the highest A++ rating in the British Fenestration Rating Council Door Energy rating scheme.

Eco Options
All of our doors exceed the current Building Regulations for energy efficiency and can have a U-value as low as 1.0 W/m2k. We also offer a range of options that help to boost the environmental credentials of any project including RCM frame reinforcement, cill reinforcement and glazing upgrades.

Reducing our carbon footprint
We have taken big steps to reduce our own carbon footprint too – Permadoor doors are made right here in the UK and we carefully plan all our delivery routes to cut down the amount of fuel we use.
